Andrew holds a BSc. in Physics with honours in Optoelectronics and Laser Engineering, an MSc. in Photonics, and a PhD in Biophysics. He has over 15 years of experience in both academia and industry, including roles as a postdoctoral researcher on an ARC Linkage project and as an optics engineer developing greenhouse gas monitoring system.

He co-developed and licensed IP at the University of Adelaide, securing a partnership with a global whitegoods manufacturer. Before delivering the Federal Government's Innovation Connections program, Andrew worked as a technical sales engineer, representing international manufacturers of industrial and scientific equipment across Australia and New Zealand.
